Tools to Help Grow Your Business

Business Cards vs. Drop Cards

Which one should you use?  BOTH!  Business cards generally contain your personal contact information (name, cell phone #, email address, etc) and possibly a picture, as well as the name of your company, "MPB Today".  If you have personally spoken with someone about your business and developed a relationship, you will want to hand them a business card.

You also need a card that you can leave wherever you go!  Always leave a trail - waiting rooms, stores, the gym, your child's school, check out registers, gas pumps - you name it!  This card should be your drop card.  Drop cards do not have your personal information.  Keep it simple, create curiosity, and lead them to your your website.  The video/website should do the talking for you!  If you are leaving a card around that says, "John Doe, MPB Today", chances are they are just going to go home and Google "MPB Today", and may not ever even make it to YOUR website.

This brings me to...

Lead Capture Pages

A LCP, although totally optional, is probably something that we couldn't live without in our business.  Does this mean you CAN'T do this business without one?  NO!  We cycled MANY times before we had a capture page, but we probably would have cycled even more if we had captured the leads coming through our website.  A LCP requires the visitor to enter information such as name, email, phone number, etc.  If you subscribe to an existing LCP system, it is already set up for you.  You can choose ANY LCP system of your liking, and you can get one for less than $10/month all the way up to $100+/month.  Generally the more you pay, the more work it does for you.  Even a basic lead capture system will do the most important thing for you - KEEP TRACK OF THE LEADS THAT COME THROUGH YOUR WEBSITE SO YOU CAN FOLLOW UP!

Domain Names (Getting your OWN website name)

We are often asked about HOW we got our website (www.MorePeanutButter.com).  If you aren't familiar with this type of thing, it can be confusing - but don't fret - it is VERY simple and inexpensive.  Simply go to any website that offers domain names (we use www.GoDaddy.com), search for the name(s) you want, and purchase!  It's now YOUR'S for the length of time you selected when purchasing!  These usually run about $10-12 per year, and you can renew them at the end of the year.  Remember, the name you choose is something that you want to stand out, create curiosity, and be SIMPLE enough for someone to remember when they get home (perhaps if they saw it on your car driving by).  We also recommend sticking to .com sites (rather than .net, .info, etc) because it's easy for people to remember.  Again, it's YOUR creativity and YOUR website, so it's YOUR choice.
